Especially, the black women underwent a lot of suffering for instance they were not allowed to attend classes or even schools but were as enslaved to perform house chore duties to other white women houses. It was indeed a great form of discrimination that was observed at the time of these scenarios. Few women managed to rise from the occasion. Again, I feel guilty for saying, one of the most, I should have said, the most, because I see nobody else whose life story and contributions can touch millions of lives the way Ben Carson’s life did and continues to do. He rose from being the dumbest kid in the world and became the most accomplished neurosurgeon in the world. How fast could fortunes change? If Ben Carson made it, then everybody else can make it to what they dream of becoming. The old and the young know who Ben is, and try to challenge themselves with respect to how he made it from the inner city streets of Detroit to Yale university then as the top neurosurgeon in the world. Ben Carson inspires me as a person not only because he made it through his academic life when everything seemed impossible but also because he has continued to improve the quality of human life around the world through his endless neurosurgical operations. Moreover, he finds time after working thirteen hours every day to give inspirational lectures and talks to students, professionals and anyone who has time for him. I got born several years after his birth but came to know much about him through his books such as Gifted Hands, Think Big among others. Similarly, his successful separation of conjoined twins around the world has captured the headlines of most media outlets in the society.
