The objective of this experiment was to determine the frictional head loss through experiment and compare the results with the theoretically computed values. The fluid flow rate in different pipes was measured using the flow rate meter. These pipes were of internal diameters 0.430”, 0.545”, 0.785and 1.025” respectively. Water was pumped to the flow rate mater to record the flow rate then directed into the pipes. The control arm was used to ensure that water only flow to the correct pipes that had been measured. Before turning on the pump, the digital pressure transducers were inserted into upstream and downstream pipe taps which were located 48’’ apart horizontally. Thereafter, the taps were turned on and the pressure of each gauge was recorded after every 30 seconds for a period of 3 minutes. Then, the Reynolds number and relative roughness was calculated using the recorded results. To determine the friction factor of each pipe, the Moody diagram was used. Afterward, the theoretical values of frictional head loss were computed and the values compared with the measured values. These figures are illustrated in table 1 below. Continue reading →

This is because the inner city neighborhood is believed to be harsh and full of many challenges, which this research will seek to identify and clarify. The United States immigration policy has been an issue for debates for a while. There are many illegal immigrants in the United States, documented and undocumented. There are children who are born in the United States and they become citizens by birth. However, the number of pregnant women flying to the United States for the sole purpose of giving birth was on the rise. The immigration department saw it necessary to review the issues with immigration to find a solution to the increasing number of immigrants in the United States (Gonzalez 608). Diabetes has been a major health issue in the United States of America in the last 20 years or so. In the resent years, statistics show that a great population in United States has highly been affected by diabetes while there are a growing number of young people already diagnosed with diabetes. Today, diabetes remains to be an increasing health issue among the Native Hawaiians. Generally, according to healthcare reports, diabetes is a risk issue for cardiovascular illness which is remains to be the leading cause of death among the Native Hawaiians. It has been recently reviewed that diabetes occurrence in Native Hawaiians is high due to their poor diets. According to statistics, there are approximately 1 million residents that identify themselves as Native Hawaiians or Pacific Islanders. Type 2 Diabetes has been the major threat to these ethnic groups for quite a long period of time. The Hawaii department estimates of healthcare estimates that nearly 70,000 to 9,000 Hawaii residents have diabetes. This has remained to be a great challenge to the people of America despite the effective measures in healthcare.

The economy of Native Hawaiians /Pacific Islanders is one of the worst in United States. This is one of the major factors that have influenced the rate of diabetes to increase. The diet of Native Hawaiians /Pacific Islanders is the major contributing factor that has influenced the growing number of type 2 Diabetes within their region. Native Hawaiians /Pacific Islanders feed on one type of food mostly such as starch. However, a good number of residents within the region are said to have this diabetes because it is genetic. Generally, type 1 diabetes is also known as insulin-independent, Juvenile-onset, or immune mediated. This kind of diabetes is causes by auto-immune reactions which occur in the body (Curtis, 2004). The practices and believes of the Nacirema portrays unusual facet, which can describe the extreme behavior of human being. In his work, Professor Linton begins by describing the ritual events of the Nacirema. However, most people misunderstand the culture of this people. These people live in North America between the territory of Canada and Mexico. Anthropologists know little about their origin. Though, traditional have it that the Nacirema came from the east. According to the myths of the Nacirema, their existence originated from their hero by the name Notgnihsaw. The hero is known for his two great things he did.
