Army Leadership Essay
The book is about Lieutenant Mark Weber who served in the US army. He is a father of three aged thirty eight years. Lieutenant Mark Weber gets sick while in the army, and a physical check reveals that he suffers from intestinal cancer, which is in the fourth stage. Mark tries to fight the deadly diseases, but realizes he may not survive. He writes a letter to his three boys, so that as they grow in his absence, they learn what life and death taught their father. In his letter, Lieutenant Mark puts emphasis on courage and fear; he educates his boys about words and action. He advices them on how to overcome challenges and get comfort and educates them about pride and humility. He also explains to them the lessons life taught him concerning seriousness and humor, and explains how life taught him to desire for new ideas and find inspiration (Weber, 2012).
